_____ in mouth disease
Most of our family is cursed with the great foot-in-mouth disease. This little girl is switching it up and going for hand-in-mouth. Her aim is perfected with her right hand only. Her left hand mostly goes right into her eye. I know this is just the beginning of the oral fixation. I pray she isn't a nail bitter or a smoker. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
It's gonna take time
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it right.

I spent my first evening alone with baby. It was daunting to think about in advance, but actually fine. I even gave her a bath. Sure, maybe a little dirty water got in her mouth. And maybe I cause a mini flood on the floor. But in the scheme of things, this really isn't too bad.
And now, I feel pretty freaking bad ass.

Why riding in the car is good
Daddy drives, baby sleeps and mommy does nothing. Oh great being in the sky, this is bliss, this nothingness. Silence. No radio, just the white noise of wheels on pavement. This is why coffee and seat warmers were invented. No one can see I am wearing crocs. I am too far from the baby to be puked on. I probably won't have to change my shirt. Please Rhode Island, grow a little longer. I want it to take just another hour to get home.
She slept in her crib
For 5 minutes, once. But the sheet's so damn pretty I just don't get it. She's snoring in my arms and the minute she hits that soft, beautiful mattress...BAM. Another 15 minutes rocking, rocking, rocking. She's asleep (thank god cause so are my arms). I am gonna put her down now. BAM. The most awake baby you've ever seen. Let's do this again mom and we'll see how you fair. Walk, walk, walk, rock, rock, rock, bounce, bounce, bounce. Shit, even I'm tired.
Research Jumping
I keep googling if it is okay to let a two month old do a lot of standing and jumping. I have this concept in my mind that too much weight bearing in early months can damage their hips/spine/alignment/posture. Now I have no clue if this is an old wive's tale, or real, hard science. However this little girl has certainly begun to show a preference for all things standing. She giggles and laughs and is generally freaking delighted to be on two feet.
I can't keep her from having this much fun! Cause she's my jumpy, jumpy, jumpy, jumpy, jumpy, jumpy girl.

How to fold laundry (with a baby)
Put baby on bed and begin to fold.Baby screams. Pick baby up. Baby is happy. Put baby in bouncy chair. Baby screams. Pick baby up. Baby is happy. Put baby in swing. Baby screams. Pick baby up. Baby is happy. Put baby in crib (yeah, right). Baby screams. Pick baby up. Baby is happy. Drag mattress into closet. Place baby on mattress. Start washing machine. Happy baby watches washing machine for full cycle. Mt. Laundry is conquered. The End.
Longest days
Did I mention that I had to fire one of my employees for unauthorized use of a company credit card? Well, I did. And now, I am back at work more than ever. I need a self help book for moms who work from home. Any recommendations?
She makes it all worth it though.
