Increasing Space
Yesterday was sunny and warm outside and so we spent it outside in our yard.
Our big project was to tie back the bamboo, and BOY are we AMAZED with the results!
We went from having a tiny little-covered-by-bamboo-dark-patch-of grass to a full sunny backyard!
We were very dusty and very dirty after picking up a bunch of trash.
Now what we need is a bunch of corrugated metal!
C's Studio Transformation
Over the weekend some progress has been made.
We had a half-day where we actually left the house and went for a walk. So, we were feeling very guilty and to make up for it decided we needed to PAINT SOMETHING.
It actually is a pretty swell color of gray, so if you are looking for one, let us know and we will give you the secret mixture.
Now we wait for rain...
Our library slash guestroom is coming together and we have to say it looks pretty cosy.
The shelves are MAJORLY wedged in and are never going ANYWHERE.
We are thinking of chopping that ladder and attaching hooks so that we can reach the top shelves. Yet another things to be added to the TO DO list of decades...
If you didn't already know...
Inside furnaces that run to forced hot air systems, there are fire doors. These fire doors are held open by lead weights which melt if there is a fire and seal off the vents and ductwork.
Well, these nice pieces of lead also can snap. And then you have to take apart ALL the ductwork and find the darn fire door and hoist it up so your heat can work again.
Did I mention the entire thing is lined with fiberglass??
Jealous now?
Command Central
Here's what the center of opperations is lookign like these days.
An old piece of piano(?) which Chris and Jon hauled out of the basement and I sanded and polyurethaned. Yup, it is on classy sawhorses!
What with all the guests (Sara, Jon, Kent, Samar, Katie, Barrett, Kate, etc) we've gotten more done in a week than I thought was humanly possible. Adventures, moving, dinners, closing, exploration, getting shocked by uncapped wires, moving heavy stuff, cutting trim, nailing trim, painting, and did I mention cleaning, cleaning, cleaning?
We've been owners for a week as of tomorrow and are feeling poor, tired and content, I think.
