We determined it to be too much sharpie. But there was a brilliant display of pumpkins strung up in trees. And C saw her first elephant.

Not So, My Little Napper
Umm, in my former experience with little bitty babes, they sleep. This babe, not so much. This was C, during mandatory nap time at 2pm, after having been awake since 8AM.
Seems pretty happy, doesn't she? And not at all sleepy...
Luckily, a friend came over to hold her. It was a seriously necessary break! This friend also just so happens to be an AMAZING graphic designer. See her site and hire her to make your Christmas cards.

First Halloween Party
We went to Woonie's first annual Pumpkins in the Park festivities. Boy was it rockin'! I was a little concerned that there would be tons of kids there (and there were). But I am happy to say that neither of us freaked out a the glimpse of our near future.

The Only Way
It's official. C only sleeps when held. Or, wrapped in a blanket, with a nuk, in the vibrating chair. Sometimes the swing works too. But as soon as her head hits any stationary surface she is wide awake. See what happens when you spend your pregnancy bouncing on a yoga ball?
We do what we can. Plus, she's pretty freaking cute.
Slightly Frazzled
See those ears in the back? And that baby in the mirror? And all that shit in the car?
Travels with babies and dogs. Though we only have one of each.
She's happy to be home.
My Big Girl
Home now, in the middle of the night. After two weeks she no longer fits in her bassinet.
Update: This just in! Back from the pediatrician and she's weighing in at 10 lbs 2 oz!

Keeping Secrets
If I tell her all my secrets then none will have to be kept. I am tired of secrets within families. They do nothing but damage. Why is everyone afraid of the truth?
Family Sleeping
Yesterday Camilla was five weeks old. As I was going through my pictures I realized that so many of my favorites are of my family sleeping. Chris, Camilla, Ruca Dog. I love to see them sprawled out and unaware.
If everyone in the house is asleep I find myself in bliss.
Why?
#1 - It means I am by myself, which is now something that seldom happens.
#2 - It means there is silence.
#3 - It means they are happy. Which makes me happy.
#4 - It means I can take secret adorable pictures.
#5 - It releases me from all pressure and makes me feel free.
