There's Something About Commitment
So, today we received a conditional commitment letter from the lender through which we are trying to borrow money to purchase the aforementioned building.
This is good, we think.
We are still required to fulfill various conditions and fill out a heap more paperwork. But, it is progress. Kind of like what WILL happen WHEN Obama becomes president.

Getting Environmental
So today we are heading up to our lawyer's office to draft an addendum that addresses the recently discovered environmental issues. Or issue. That being UST's. Underground Storage Tanks for OIL. And the propensity they have for leaking into and contaminating the soil. Oh, did I mention DEM is involved? Or that the bank won't finance until we can show a closure certificate from DEM?Just another day in the life...
Rock The Ink
So today Wear Your Music, AZU and Christopher Garrison Photography held court in the backstage greenroom at the ROCK THE INK tattoo and metal festival. The music was loud, the bands were nice and a swell time was had by all. We'll also be there tomorrow and the next day. Mo' metal, mo' guitar strings, mo' fun.
Showing the Apartment
So, people begin coming today to see our apartment. Hopefully one of them will wish to take over our lease. Hopefully we find them soon, and hopefully we get a mortgage too. But for the time being what it means is that we have to clean up after ourselves ALL THE TIME. Beds must be made, trash taken out, am I supposed to be baking cookies or something? And if the cleaning isn't the pits, the dreaming about the whole thing is. Last night I dreamed that our apartment was actually double the size and there was a whole half of it (complete with restaurant kitchen, including Fry-o-later) that we had never even used. Bring It.
